10 Tips for Successful Article Marketing

You can start your own home based business even if you're broke, when you use article marketing. Here are my top 10 tips for success:

Set Goals for Your Article Marketing Goals are vital. Make your goals achievable, measurable and specific. Transform your goal by chunking them down into action steps to complete daily.

  1. Write at Least Two Articles Every Day Your articles will work faithfully for you as online sales people forever, and the more you have selling for you, the more your business will grow. Write at least two articles every day.
  2. Remember to Use the Keywords Searchers Use - the Search Engines Are Your Friends Use the keywords which searchers use. There are many free online keyword research tools; use them, and then use the keywords in your articles. However, don't overdo it. Forget "keyword density", its nonsense, and leads to unnatural writing, which the search engines penalize.
  3. Your Articles Are Advertising - your Resource Box is Vital You give free information in your articles. Your resource box is your chance to share your advertising message. Treat it as an online ad, and use split testing to see which boxes get the most click throughs.
  4. Original Content Is King Online - Write from Your Own Experiences Original content is king. Don't rehash others' articles. Write from your own experiences for real success.
  5. Be Patient - Expect a Three Month Lag Until You Achieve the Best Results It takes time for the search engines to index your articles and start sending you traffic. Expect it to take around three months.
  6. Get Enthusiastic - Read Motivational Literature and Listen to Tapes your enthusiasm sells, and it comes through in your articles' tone. Read and listen to motivational materials to stay enthusiastic and motivated.
  7. Keep Your Plans to Yourself - Avoid Others' Sabotage Few people understand the online world, and even fewer understand article marketing. Keep your plans to yourself. Your friends don't mean to sabotage you, but their doubts will infect you. Stay positive... be quiet about what you're doing. Just do it.
  8. Track Your Articles - Write Reports Each month, write a report for yourself about how your articles are progressing. Check their rankings in the search engines. Which articles got the most views? Just write a one-page report. Your reports will track your progress, and will motivate you, as you see your earnings increase month by month.
  9. Ideas Are Everywhere - Keep an Idea Notebook. Ideas are everywhere, but they're ephemeral. Write them down so you'll never run out of article ideas. For more useful tips & hints, please browse for more information at my website:  www.jobathomesecrets.com

6 Ways To Make Your Subscribers More Responsive

Today I want to ask you a question. "How responsive is your email list?"

By that I mean, how many subscribers on your list respond when you end then a message asking them to DO something? For example, you may ask then to visit webpage with an article on it, or go to a blog post and leave a comment or purchase an affiliate product or one of your products. When you ask for action, how many respond?

If you haven't figured it out yet, having a RESPONSIVE list is the most important factor for successful list marketing. It is even more important than how many people are on your list. After all, who cares is you have a 10,000 person list, if no one does what you recommend?

Obviously, the content you provide in your email messages and Autoresponder messages is what determines if the reader opens, reads and responds to your message. And only by building a relationship with your list and consistently providing information that is on-topic, useful and actionable, will you create a list that responds.

So let's look at 6 ways to make your list more responsive, your business stronger and your bank account bigger...

Write From A Position Of Authority

Remember, people joined your list because they made the transition from someone looking for information to someone "asking" for information. And they are asking YOU! So your email messages need to reflect your expertise in your particular field.

Write As If Your Helping A Friend

You correspondence with your list should be professional, but it should not be stuffy and corporate. It should read like a letter to a friend, not an advertisement or university thesis. Make the message easy to read... or your subscribers won't read it. Simple as that.

Don't Try To Sell Something Every Time Out

Remember, you are trying to help your subscribers with a problem. And yes, sometimes that means recommending a product or service that ends up putting money in your pocket (affiliate commissions or your product sales). But there are also a lot of ways to help them without trying to sell them something. I recommend finding the BEST solution to the problem, and then sending messages that exemplify WHY you believe it is the best solution. This way, you provide value without beating them over the head with a sales message.

Make Sure To Get On A Schedule

You need to establish a relationship with your subscriber. And you can't do that if you only send out one email every 3 months. The trick is to figure out how often you can send a message that the subscriber actually wants to read. If you are providing valuable content, your subscribers should be WAITING for your emails. But don't overdo it! No matter how popular you think you are, they probably don't want to hear from you 10 times a day. Use your judgment and come up with a delivery schedule that is comfortable for both you and your list.

Do A Final Check Before Sending Out The Email

Before you hit the send button or add an email to your Autoresponder, read the message over and ask yourself if YOU would like to receive this email message. Think like a subscriber, and ask yourself if you would take time out of your busy day to read this message. Does it have something of value that makes it worth the time to read and act upon? If not, don't send it!

Remember Your "List" Is Made Up Of People

As a marketer, we use words like list, subscriber, prospect, etc. But don't lose site of the fact that there are REAL people on your list. They are not just some numbers in an Autoresponder service, but real people. So, be a friend, be respectful and treat them as you would like to be treated.

I have no doubt that is you do these 6 things, your list will be more responsive, your business will grow and your bank account will fill up.

Don't you think so?

10 Ways to Look Chic on the Web

Marketing and selling over the internet allows you to enjoy the ever-so-fabulous pleasure of sitting around in a nighty and bunny slippers while you watch the sales and leads roll in.  But no matter what you’re wearing, your web presence must still be dressed to the nines.  Bad marketing is sometimes worse than no marketing at all.  As you expand your marketing strategy to the far reaches of the internet, you want to make sure the same great branding you’ve put together for your traditional marketing is mirrored on the web.

1. All that Jazz

Your branding, logo, color, palette and design need to be eye-catching.  You should have a compelling logo that looks appealing to the eye, alludes to what your company does and has colors and a shape that your niche market will be attracted to.  For example, truckers probably won’t look at a webpage that has kitties and flowers in pink and purple all over it, and creative and artistic types don’t tend to gravitate to squares and lots of boxy edges.  Consider these factors very carefully and use your network as a test market, remembering to value highly the opinions of those that fall into your specific niche.

2. The Chat

Be clear, concise and compelling.  Make sure that at least three sets of eyes (one being a professional set) look over your content and that between the three of you there are at least five revisions.   Reading copy slowly out loud is an excellent way to catch wording errors that a spelling and grammar check and a weary or hurried eye might miss.  Now, don’t be too chatty; maintain caution when making information your competition shouldn’t see readily available.

3. Get Your Point Across

You want your message to really speak to your target audience.  To do this, you must first know who they are and why they came to your site.  Interrupt the mental conversation they are having in their own mind by speaking directly to them.  The purpose of your website is to be able to reach certain people, so speak their language and address their individual needs, concerns and desires.

4. Research, Honey

You certainly need to research web companies that you are considering using.  Ask others about their experiences to get some tips.  Ask your business owner colleagues about common issues that they struggle with on the web and then ask your vendor prospects how you can avoid them.  Check out what similar companies are doing with their web strategy.  Find what you like and don’t like and tweak it to make it fit your unique positioning and differentiating strengths.  Collect samples of what you like, so you have plenty to show and tell when you are describing what you want. I personally recomment WebZite Wizard.  I found it very easy to use and very affordable, with up to date tools.

5. Cha Ching

Defining your budget at the beginning is very important.  Website design and redesign projects can become similar in scope progression to home remodels.  What starts out as a small project can quickly turn into a small fortune when all those it-would-be-nice-to-haves start adding up.  A defined budget will help ensure you stay on track and keep the shirt on your back.  However, you should also plan on having a certain amount of reserve in case things do go over budget, as this is quite common.  A thousand dollars in your reserve is a minimum must.  Research what you want and need and then build your budget piecemeal before committing to anything.

6. Keep Your Eye on the Prize

Designing a website can be a time consuming process and should be managed using good project management skills and methods.  The project should have a deadline and project plan and everyone should know their roles and the expectations for their participation level.  Time and resources need also to be budgeted and allocated in order to keep this effort moving along smoothly.  Buying a website is not a point and click transaction.  While the domain itself may be easy to procure, even if you hire someone else to design it, you, someone on your staff or an outside consultant will likely need to be heavily involved to pull this all together.  Don’t let toiling with your website derail other important sales activities.

7. Work It

A website is essentially a virtual salesperson, and like any good salesperson, it needs to be goal-orientated.  While it is nice to give out a lot of free information, if your web marketing doesn’t drive someone to do something, what’s the point?  You want someone to take an action that allows you to begin or deepen your business relationship with them as your ROI for your investment.  Your ultimate goal should be to get people to call, order, contact you or signup for future communications by giving you their details.  You want to make money, honey.  So, design each page with that in mind.  What are you offering people?  We’ve all looked at websites that were so poorly put together that you can’t even figure out what it is they sell.  Don’t join this crowd.  Tell your customers what you are selling and why they need it.  Have a succinct statement of exactly what you do on the homepage and make it intuitive so people can find more in-depth information explaining your products or services.

8. Automate to the Max

Your online strategy should create more revenue, not more work.  You went on the web so you could sell to the world, but you probably don’t have time to do that manually.  Luckily, websites are easily integrated with all kinds of fun automation technology.  Visitors’ actions on your website should set off a chain reaction of automated events.  Whether it is sales, customer service or marketing, all of these can be set up to run automatically as soon as someone does something on your website.  You can automate your processes using email marketing services, auto responders and an integrated fulfillment warehouse.  By understanding the process that you are guiding your customers through, you can automate much of the backend for minimal effort on your part.

9. The Scoop

What kind of customer information do you hope to pull from your site for future marketing?  What information can you get customers to give you so that you can better market to them and better serve their needs?  Do you need a CRM system?  Make sure you are capturing this data in a usable way, so you can mine it for repeat business gold later.

10. The Dish

Gather and analyze your data on what people are doing on your website.  Where are the most popular spots, what are the areas where there seems to be little interest?  What is the most popular point of entry to your website and where is the most popular point of exit?  Look for ways you can guide your audience.  Start by deciding where you want them to go and how to get them to stay longer.  They should see you’re most compelling content, which should drive them to a desired action.  Solicit feedback and consider adding a blog to make your website even more interactive.

16 Ways to Save $100

Many families are working hard to save money and reduce debt. Credit-card debts and other loans hang over us like a sword. By saving modest amounts, however, you can reap big rewards over time. And that doesn't require clipping coupons and washing out used coffee filters.

Here are easy ways you can save $100 or more this year:

These simple changes will add up to big money over time.

 1. Plug into bargain electricity.
Mickey Greenblatt was spending nearly $250 a month on electricity for his home in Potomac, Md. When the retired executive called his utility company to find out why his bills were so high, the company offered to do a free home-energy audit. Greenblatt learned that simple things such as running his dishwasher at night rather than during the day could cut his bill by 40 percent. Taking advantage of such options as off-peak rates can save most consumers $100 a year.

Savings are also possible under "load management" programs. You get discounts for allowing your utility company to put a device on your water heater and air conditioner that switches them off briefly during periods of high demand.

2. Hit the brakes on automobile-insurance rates.
You can save substantially by increasing the deductibles on the comprehensive and collision portions of your policy. According to the
Insurance Information Institute, raising collision deductibles from $200 to $500 could reduce your collision and comprehensive coverage by 15-30 percent. Squeeze out additional savings by asking about every possible discount, such as for carpooling, air bags, annual mileage below 10,000 miles -- even for teenage drivers with grade averages above a B.

3. Challenge your property tax.
Ruth Rejnis, author of Squeeze Your Home for Cash, recommends going to your local assessor's office and finding out what property taxes your neighbors are paying. If your house is similar but your taxes are higher, you may want to challenge your bill. Also, read the description of your home. Errors in square footage or the number of bathrooms could mean an overcharge. The assessor's office or local board of tax review can tell you how to file an appeal.

4. Shop for a bargain bank.
Look for free checking and no ATM fees. Also, if you have direct deposit of your paycheck, your bank might waive its monthly fee.

5. Remedy pricey prescriptions.
Cut your bills in half by buying generic drugs instead of name brands. Also, buy your prescriptions via mail order through a drugstore chain or your company health plan.

6. Pay off your plastic.
If you carry a credit-card balance from month to month, pay it back pronto. A $1000 balance at 18 percent blows nearly $200 a year in interest. If you can't pay it off in full, transfer your debt to a lower-rate card.

7. Say no to car extras.
Your car dealer may sell rustproofing and fabric protection at $100 a pop, and paint protection for as much as $250. "Usually these extras are the dealer's way to squeeze more money out of you," says Bob Elliston, author of What Car Dealers Won't Tell You. Do-it-yourself fabric protector costs about $10 a bottle. Paint protection is unnecessary, since most cars have many layers of paint. And skip rustproofing: cars come already treated so that they won't need it.

8. Take a longer waiting period for disability insurance.
If you can't work, disability insurance pays your living expenses. Many employers offer this. But if you must buy your own, accept the longest waiting period before benefits kick in -- as long as you can cover those expenses, suggests Shelly Branch, author of Dollar Pinching: A Consumer's Guide to Smart Spending. A healthy male carpenter earning $40,000 annually could pay up to $1800 a year for a policy with a 30-day wait. With a 90-day wait it could cost $800 to $1100.

9. Cancel mortgage insurance.
When you buy a house with less than 20 percent down, your lender may insist you buy private mortgage insurance (PMI) to protect against default. The average cost of this insurance is $45 a month, or $540 a year. However, once you have 20-percent equity (either because you've paid down your mortgage or because area property values have risen), you may be allowed to cancel the PMI.

10. Explore DRIPs.
If you buy stock, you can save on brokerage commissions by enrolling in a dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP). Offered by more than 900 companies, DRIPs allow shareholders to buy stock directly. You may have to be a shareholder of record, however, so find out if you'll need to use a broker to buy your first few shares. Then enroll in the DRIP.

11. Buy straight from the Treasury.
Another way to bypass brokers and save money on fees is to buy Treasury notes, bills or bonds directly. The minimum investment is $1000 for bonds and for notes with maturities between five and ten years, $5000 for notes with shorter maturities and $10,000 for bills. Ask the nearest branch of the Federal Reserve Bank for an application for a Treasury Direct account.

12. Clean out your closet.
When you deduct charitable donations of clothing at tax time, do you just guess $100? William Lewis, author of Cash for Your Used Clothing, says most people underestimate the worth of such items.

Before you donate, price each item against similar ones sold at the store where you drop them off. If you're in a 28-percent tax bracket, a donation worth $400 will earn you a tax deduction of at least $112.

13. Skip the service contract.
Extended warranties on electronics are rarely a good deal. According to Tom Garman, a Virginia Tech professor of consumer affairs, most product breakdowns occur in the first year and are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

14. Flex your company's flexible spending account.
These accounts allow you to set aside part of your pretax salary for dependent-care costs and unreimbursed medical expenses. You decide at the beginning of the year how much money you want to set aside in the account. The downside is that if you don't use all the money, you lose it. However, if you're in the 28-percent tax bracket and allocate $500 to cover your health-insurance deductible, you'll cut taxes by $140.

15. Buy in bulk.
Items you may use a lot, such as paper towels and diapers, are often far cheaper when you buy in quantity. For example, Alan and Denise Fields, co-authors of Baby Bargains, say new parents buy an average of 2400 disposable diapers in their baby's first year alone. Diapers that cost 20 cents apiece in the packages sold at grocery shops and drugstores might go for 15 cents when bought in bulk at a discount store or warehouse club. Just a nickel a diaper could add up to an annual savings of $120.

16. Rethink your vacations.
"Homestay" programs offer free lodging all over the world to travelers who are themselves willing to host other members in their homes. Some groups charge an annual membership fee, but your savings can easily be worth more than a hundred dollars a day.

Affiliate Marketing Succcess

If you are going to become a successful affiliate on the Internet, you need 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

1.  First, you must have a strong WHY.

Why must you make affiliate marketing work? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was and is WHY, my goal.  I found my why. You MUST find yours.

2.  You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to make money with affiliate programs or make your living on the Internet, you won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money online. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money online with affiliate programs. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money online with affiliate programs.

I've always said that "affiliate marketing" is the job of the future. In the "old" days, you had to go to a potential
employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. Believe me, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already
here TODAY.

3.
You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with affiliate marketing.

That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is the Internet is a moving target... The only
thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start an affiliate marketing business. You simply have to start one.  This is what I call "Making the Leap."

The good news is that the cost of failure on the Internet is very small. In the "brick and mortar" world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business.  It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100.

Choose one of the Top 10 Best Affiliate Sites to make you money!

You simply need get IN THE GAME... Each moment that you stay "out there," you're wasting valuable time that you could be learning and skills necessary to become a successful affiliate marketer. In fact, if you're not in the game yet, you're ALREADY behind the times. Make the leap to becoming a successful affiliate marketer today!

7 Tips to Working Successfully From Your Home Office

Remember the commercial of the woman in a business suit top, pajama bottoms and bunny slippers while on a conference call? Way back when, I used to think that symbolized home office life. Ahhh, the joy of it.

Once I started running my business from home, however, reality set in very quickly!

· The days of commuting to and from a workplace with a defined work schedule are gone.

·  The days of being accountable to a “boss” are gone.

·   The days of doing “home” stuff while at home and “work” stuff while at work are definitely gone!

Here are some tips that have helped insure your while working from home:

1. Create a separate workspace that works for, not against, you.

Whether you've taken over a spare bedroom, a corner of the basement or the dining room table, be sure that you have a space that is yours just for working (even if it is just for work between certain hours and for eating at other times).

In deciding where you want to work, you need to first determine HOW you work.

Do you prefer a lot of space? Do you work with piles or does everything need its own file folder? Do you prefer a clear workspace with nothing except your current project or do you like to have all ongoing projects in sight?

Regardless of your work style, you need an area that works for you and that is just for work.

2. Beware of shiny objects.

In setting up your office, don't run out and buy every gadget known to man. It's tempting to get the best of everything right off the bat - resist the urge!

Get the basics and add things when there is a need. For my purposes, the basics are: a good laptop, a multi-line telephone with speakerphone and mute, a color laser printer, a scanner and I recommend E-fax. What you need will depend on how you work with your clients.

3. Limit the chatting.

Once they hear you are working from home, many friends and family (especially those who are home during the day) will think nothing of calling or IMing you throughout the workday and, while you may love to chat or IM with your friends and family, be sure they know when you are working. It is too easy to fall into the habit of chatting with someone and then realizing you've spent an hour or more of your workday and haven't finished the project or made your calls.

Save the visiting for after your workday is complete or when you are taking a break.

4. Know when to say “when”.

Starting and growing a new business is invigorating! I love what I do and draw a lot of energy from it. That said, be sure you set limits on how long you spend working each day so as not to drain yourself.

My workday typically starts around 9am and I go until lunch when I take a break, a quick lunch and read a book. Once back, I work for a few more hours and then do a final check of everything in the evening. This schedule works well for me. You need to find one that works for you - if you have children, your prime workday may be while they are at school or after they've gone to bed.

5. Do what you do best.

Working from home can lead to a sense of isolation and the feeling that you need to do everything yourself. You don't.

Focus on those things that you do best - the reasons why you chose to go into business for yourself - and outsource the rest. A virtual assistant can help you with all those tasks that you shouldn't be spending time on. It is better for your business to hire someone, say to do the books, than it is for you to spend X hours trying to figure it out when you could be marketing your business or working directly with your clients.

6. Automate, automate, automate.

When possible, set up your systems such that regular tasks are as automated as possible. Do you have an evergreen (i.e., never changing, same for everyone) welcome email that you send all your new clients? If so, set up an autoresponder.

Need to keep track of projects and have updates automatically sent to clients? Use Web Email. Need to explain something “in person” to a potential client? Use a webinar. You get the idea.

To the extent possible, you want to be working in your home office, not running around during the work day. As an entrepreneur, commuting and waiting cost you money. Use technology to your advantage.

7. Get out and visit.

As you work on your marketing plan, get new clients and generally build your business, it's easy to forget the outside world exists.

Be sure you get out of your home office (and your pjs) at least once a week. Go anywhere there are people: the gym, a favorite coffee shop, networking events, out with friends, etc. It's not healthy to become a recluse and you'll get far more ideas by mixing with people.

With a little planning, you can create a home office environment that suits both you and your business.

Avoiding Common Business Loan Mistakes

Surveys show that 94.7% of small business owners feel their only lending resources are local banks or personal credit cards. This common sense advice will help you avoid these common business loan mistakes, regardless of your personal credit history... and avoid pledging your personal property as collateral.

First of all, getting approved for a commercial loan is definitely easier than getting personal loans... regardless of your personal credit scores. Additionally, getting the right types of corporate credit is absolutely critical: if you want to protect your personal assets, minimize the risk of a personal lawsuit affecting your business, and to your ability to weather the economic changes that happen overnight.

All business owners must be much more proactive about developing relationships with the right types of lending institutions. You usually want to start your application process with out-of-state, national lenders... not your local or regional banking institutions. National lenders typically won't require a personal guarantee or your social security number.

Follow this simple roadmap to obtain a small business startup loan, a business debt consolidation loan, a bad credit business loan, or a government business loan... although I strongly recommend that you find a commercial loan expert who can help you through the process of building a strong corporate credit rating.

Finding a competent business loan expert will give you a head start on your competition & also let you focus on running your day-to-day activities... instead of dealing with the hassles of establishing a strong business credit rating. An excellent business credit score can help your company's image, overnight. And, finding a small business loan expert isn't that difficult. You just need to know where to look.

Now... let's get started... before you start applying for any business loans!

1. How is your business structured? Is it a sole proprietorship, C-corporation, S-Corporation, Limited-Liability Corporation (LLC), Partnership, or Trust?

2. How long has your business been recognized by your State & Local government?

3. Has your company ever had derogatory information reported against it to either of the two (2) most popular business credit reporting agencies, Dun & Bradstreet or Experian?

4. Are your commercial permits, licenses and registrations current?

5. Does your business have a physical address, or are you trying to use a U.S. Post Office Box instead?

6. Is your business telephone number recognized by directory assistance?

7. Are your incoming telephone calls professionally answered in your business name?

8. Have you established a business checking account?

9. Have you registered & asked for an Employer Identification Number (also known as an EIN) from the IRS?

If your answer to the first question was a sole proprietorship, partnership or trust; I urge you to re-establish your company as a corporation or LLC. I'm not going to provide you with legal advice, but many CPAs and attorneys highly recommend
LLCs (Limited Liability Corporations) as a way of protecting your personal assets & estate... in the event of any lawsuits being filed against your company.

As a sole proprietor, your personal assets are at direct risk of seizure or forfeiture when faced with most types of legal action. Additionally, if you are applying for business loans in a corporation's name... most lending institutions will not require you to provide any personal guarantee!

A corporation can still face difficulties applying for business credit, if it has been in business less than two (2) years or had previous credit problems reported against it. Here are some ways to fix these problems.

Purchasing a "shelf corporation" or "aged corporation" that's been in good standing with your State government (for longer than 2 years) can drastically improve your chances for small business loan approval.

- You can attempt to repair your business credit rating by writing dispute letters to Experian or Dun & Bradstreet, which isn't always possible.

- Some corporate credit experts will help you find, select & purchase an established "shelf" or "aged" corporation, some of which already have strong credit ratings established... saving you alot of hassles!

I cannot stress this enough... you MUST have a physical address (not a PO Box) if you want to establish a solid business credit rating. The same thing is said for telephone numbers & the way incoming phone calls are handled. Would you lend
money to a company that does not appear to have a physical address or documented telephone number?

And, don't forget to always keep your commercial permits, licenses & registrations current... and always keep copies of these documents in case a potential lender asks for this information.

Business checking accounts are a must. Again, this proves stability to your potential lenders. Here are a couple of tips for you, in case you've had any checking accounts closed by a financial institution. Pay off the outstanding balance (if any) that's being reported by the bank, or open a checking account at a bank or credit union that doesn't use the ChexSystems credit reporting system. Most credit unions don't use ChexSystems, and you can always find a list of banking institutions in your area that don't use ChexSystems... by simply doing a search on Google, Yahoo or MSN.

Small business credit ratings are tracked using your business name, business address and employer identification number (EIN). You can apply for & receive an EIN at the IRS's website (irs.gov). You can also call the IRS, but be prepared for long waits.

Then you'll want to obtain a D-U-N-S number from Dun & Bradstreet, the largest business credit reporting agency. You can apply for this without any fees at Dun & Bradstreet's website (dnb.com), and you'll usually receive this number within
thirty (30) days. Do not apply for this number until you've prepared your self thoroughly, because any information you give to them... goes into your credit file... permanently.

After you've obtained your D-U-N-S number, you're probably ready to start establishing some vendor credit. Vendor credit is where many business owners start establishing business credit ratings. Simply go to staples.com, officemax.com or officedepot.com to get started. Then, you'll also need to fax your business telephone bill & the credit application to them... on your business letterhead (which you can create using your favorite word processing software if you don't have expensive stationery). They usually don't require any personal guarantees (if you've followed the outline above), and you'll usually receive a starting credit line of $750.

This is critical & I repeat... critical! Always pay your invoices before the grace periods begin... especially on unsecured credit cards or vendor credit lines. Dun & Bradstreet will lower your credit score for every day a creditor reports your bill as unpaid while you're within your grace period. Whereas, personal credit scores are not lowered unless you are 30+ days past your due date.

Dun & Bradstreet reports what's known as a Paydex score (your corporate credit score), and a score of 80 is very good... with 100 being the highest score you can achieve. Your Paydex score is issued once you've established a known
vendor/credit relationship with at least five (5) creditors.

There are shortcuts that will help you get much more than $750 alot faster. When using a business credit expert, most small business owners (even startups) can be approved for vendor credit lines of $25,000-$50,000 and open credit lines of
$50,000, $250,000, $500,000 or more... in as little as 45-60 days... by using their knowledge of the application process & "shelf" corporations.

Now, it's your choice. Are you going to go against the grain & try to establish business credit on your own (which could prove costly to your business health, growth & survival)? Or, will you choose to utilize a corporate credit expert... allowing you to remain focused on your daily business needs?

Most business owners make the mistake of trying to do this on their own... usually trying to find grants, investor "angel" money, or falling back onto the "personal credit card sword". Don't be a casualty like the rest. Learn more about how you can use the same tools that informed, educated millionaires have been using for decades.

Five Different Ways to Make Money with Your Newsletter (Ezine)

Publishing an ezine is one of the easiest ways to get publicity and a great deal of deals. If you see that things are not moving in the right direction after about 5-6 months, it is time you took a look at your ezine and fine tune it to bring in more money. My rcommendation..FREE Newsletters

Tips for Turning up the Returns

The adage "There are no free lunches" hold very true. Indeed, there is no gain without pain and therefore, if you want some great returns you need to be ready to put in some great efforts as well. Check out some ideas:

1. Self promotion is important - you want people to come to you, they should know how good you are. They need to know that you are the best and why. There is no one who could tell that better than you and your other customers. Ensure you have sufficient matter that says so on your ezine. Allot about one fifth space of your ezine to announce things that you are proud of about your product, website and service. People would soon want to be part of the ezine because they would value you more.

2. Offer freebies -
this is an old tick but exceptionally effective nonetheless. Everybody loves something free. Take it as an investment you would do with an ad and use that money to get something of value that you would offer your opt-in members. Do not cheat at the value as you would not go too far with that kind of attitude. Offer high-value and the word will get out.

3. Offer what they want - you will often find that your customers want certain complementary products, services, items. Research and offer relevant information with links if possible to the best sites that offer it. Your effort in keeping your customers satisfied would not go unnoticed. Besides, that would draw in people by the hordes.

4. Offer coaching, e-courses, information - people should come to identify you with a place where they get value. Offering coaching in certain aspects related to your product is a great way to do this.

5. Sell ad space - this is a simple method of "slow and steady wins the race". You would not get wealthy with this method but you would definitely attract a steady trickle of income which will improve with the popularity of your ezine.

Five Reasons to Work on Your Scrapbook Today

Here are some of the reasons why people decide on Scrapbooking and why you should want to consider it as a business:

1. Scrapbooking offers a connection to the community. Classes and crops are serving the same social function that quilting bees once did. This is a time to get together with friends, to share precious memories, to exercise your artistic expression, and to get something accomplished.

2. When your children leave home, and if they are ever feeling down, they will look through the scrapbooks you've created for them. They will hear your words and feel your love span across time and space. And, beyond that, when you are gone, your voice, your memories, and the written and visual record of your philosophy and your values will live on.

3. Scrapbooking helps us to remember that our life is our art. The time that some moms spend scrapbooking helps them to remember that every single moment they spend at being a good mom - as well as a good human being - is time spent in positive, artistic creation. And I have no doubt that if we all spent more of our time in positive, artistic creation, the world would be a better place.

4. You will learn to relish the present moment with your family more fully as the very moments that you seek to capture on those pages. Time spent scrapbooking is time spent in open, ardent appreciation of your family and the experiences that you have had. It's a way of honoring the experiences and people in your life with your time and reflection.

5. A scapbook is a treasured gift. It is a piece of the real you, the real artistic, emotional you, which encourages others to show their artistic, emotional, real selves, too. Do it as a business and you can start today!

Have a Business? Start a Newsletter

A newsletter (or ezine) is important to have if you own your own business. It can either be an online newsletter, which will be delivered to people in their email, or a hard copy, which can be sent out in the mail. The most common form today is by email. My personal recommendation

You will need to set up a page on your site with an opt-in form, which is a form that asks people to leave their name and email address in exchange for receiving your newsletter.

By offering a newsletter, you are able to stay in front of your market. You can promote your products and your affiliate products in your newsletter. However, be sure that’s not all you do.

It is essential to offer people good information along with your promotions. Make sure you are giving them correct, up to date information and recommendations to quality products or services. This will, over time, label you an expert in your field.

Try to make your newsletters interactive by sending out surveys, taking polls, and conducting contests.

Offer your subscribers links to other sites that you feel will be helpful to them, and give product reviews. People love reading what someone has to say that has actually used the product.

Include articles to give your subscribers relevant information. You can write the articles yourself, use private label rights articles, or hire a ghostwriter to do the writing for you, or the best program to use their free newsletters

You should offer people a bonus to sign up for your newsletter, such as a free ebook, report, or ecourse. People value their information, so they may need a little extra incentive to give it away.

There are all types of newsletter software solutions out there and it might be confusing for you to choose the best option. I have personally tried several newsletter software programs and have found the most complete, powerful, and easy to use software that is also the most affordable, is called Aweber.

Maybe you have heard about it before.  Aweber is really popular and loved among newsletter publishers. Click here for more info.

How to Blog for Profit -Marketing Tips

As an affiliate marketer, is to get people excited about your affiliate products. You're in business to sell. You are investing time, energy, and money into promoting your affiliate business. You are using proven tools such as building your mailing list via opt-in newsletters. You are engaged in article writing and marketing through a good article distribution service.

Now you are entering the blogosphere with your own blog. You want to write those personal blog posts for readers that will lead them to your website where your affiliate products are. How do you go about building a blog readership that will drive traffic to your affiliate business? You build a readership by considering some of the following suggestions, and applying them to your particular blog.

1.. Know your product.  First off, make sure you know "thereof of what you speak". In other words, be an informed expert, or at least very knowledgeable about your topics. Don't give readers inaccurate information. Don't give them non-sensical fluff. Don't give them something that they already know unless you're putting an intriguing spin on it that gives them even more information.

2.  Give your readers useful knowledge that makes them walk away and say, "Wow, I never knew that." Be a blogger that people look forward to reading daily because they are always learning something new and important. In this way, you will build blog traffic which builds traffic, via links, to your affiliate product sites.

3.  Blogs should be short and informative.  When you write your blog, make sure your postings are shorter than your articles. Blogs are quicker reading that people check out once or more a day. They want fresh, timely, up-to-date information presented in a more personal way than articles. Feel free to be a little more creative with your blog. Don't be afraid to talk about your specific affiliate product.

4.  Write mini reviews of your product.  In a blog, you can do some outright promoting, more than you can in a generic article intended for distribution. Write full-fledged mini-reviews of your affiliate products. Explain why and how they work, and write in a vibrant way. Make sure you have the links to where those products are. You don't want to sound like a huckster; you do want to speak intelligently and confidently about you and your affiliate business. Who knows, your blog may help garner downline members in your affiliate program.

5.  Encourage Feedback.  Another thing when considering a blog to help build your affiliate business is to encourage feedback from your blog readers. Make your readers feel part of your particular community. Encourage them to ask questions of you to acquire more information on your blog topics. Point them to additional information you have concerning your topic. This would mean pointing them to your article content and your website where you may have detailed product reviews and the like. It's all about building a rapport with your readership. When they trust you, and get to know you better through your blog, you pre-sell them to your affiliate products.

6.  Make sure your posts are up to date on the trends.  One more thing to consider, amongst a host of others, concerning a blog is to make sure your posts are topical. Make sure they need reading, now. Make sure your posts are about what's on your niche markets mind currently. Stay informed of the latest trends and fads concerning your affiliate products. Keep up-to-date on your subject matter. Write about new developments in your affiliate product field. Write about new features, updates, and new versions of your affiliate product. Write about new uses for your affiliate product. Write about ongoing research currently happening in your topic area as relates to your affiliate product. Your readers will constantly seek you out when you give them this time-sensitive information.

You can use blogs to drive traffic to your website, which in turn drives affiliate product sales. You can use blogs for profitability, but remember, never be boring. Readers have no reason to return to your blog, and hence your affiliate website, if you are going to cause them to yawn. They would better spend their time getting forty winks. Make sure the only winking they are doing is at you, for providing them with the interesting blog posts and useful information they need.

How To Excel In Home Based Businesses

Working from home using your computer may not be suitable for everybody. Of course, most of us will like to have the idea of avoiding the rush hours, little time spent in traveling to work, or little time spent working for money. Most importantly, being able to spend more quality time with your family.

That's why many people tried out home based businesses, unfortunately, many tried and failed. We've heard many cases of people giving up, or internet marketing scams that they got into. So how to excel in a home based business?

Firstly, you need to do some research on profitable and in-demand market, and areas which people will continue to make spending even when the economy is bad. For example, health care, education, life coaching, career, necessities, etc. You need to make sure that you are able to create a long term income online.

After finding an area that you have confidence that there will be sufficient demand all year round, you need to scout for products or services that you will be able to promote to people. If you are new, you can do affiliate marketing, which means promoting others' products and get a commission for making a sale. You  simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. Believe me, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future.

You will need to have a website of your own, in order to start attracting visitors, having a blog may be good for a start. But it will be more professional and you will more committed in your home based business. My own recommendation and the one that I found easy to use and it also includes 2 tier affiliate program is Web Site Wizard. Go here and get free 30 days access.

One of the most important thing about your website is having quality content, you can do other traffic techniques at a later stage after your website is established. Fresh unique quality content is what the search engines love, you will need to constantly add in new content if possible.

You can start a blog which allows you to add in content easily, building backlinks, joining traffic exchanges, submitting your websites to search engines, submitting articles and social bookmarking will quickly propel your website to a higher ranking for your chosen keywords.

It is challenging to start a business if you're new and do not have much capital. One of the way is to join a networking business. Network marketing is an excellent choice because it allows you to use their business as an opportunity to promote to other people. At the same time, you are able to earn residual income. Most importantly, the company must be in business at least five years and still running strongly for example, its main focus is on health and wellness industry and other products that people buy on a regular basis. My personal recommendation

Many people have treated online businesses more like hobbies rather than real businesses, it's all about the attitude that you have. If you seriously want to create an alternative income online and work from home using your computer, you have to treat your venture seriously.

I'll like to end off this article with one of my personal favorite quotes, “Winners don't quit and quitters don't win.” If your results are bad, change your strategies and keep trying! I hope you enjoy reading this article and good luck to your venture.

How To Get Free Content For Your Newsletter

Every website needs to have plenty of interesting content which if it is available can keep the ezine from sinking because the very survival of an ezine depends on the amount of content it can offer to readers. For a website to survive, it must be able to provide more and more content though this in itself can prove to be a real challenge. The Best Free Content on the Web

To get content for your website you may require having articles being ghost written by others and because there are many ghostwriters ready to write for you for low pay, getting plenty of such content is not going to be a real problem though it is still not free. Another possible answer may be to use RSS feeds which can help your website but then this option means that your WebPages will become static and that is also not a good option.

You can also write plenty of content on your own though this too will prove to be a steep hill to climb because you may not have the time or sufficient knowledge to succeed.

However, you can easily get free content for your ezine by simply grabbing content from the many free article directories that populate the World Wide Web. The beauty of this option is that free article directories allow you to freely use content that has been written by authors who don't mind if you use their content on your website.

With many hundreds of free article directories to choose from, there is plenty of free content waiting to be tapped as long as you follow the terms with regard to using this content which you need to agree to before using the content. Other than that you are free to use the content on your ezine and you don't even need to become a member of the article directory.

So, in the free article directory you will have found the answer to obtaining free content for your ezine and in addition, you can also be sure that you will always have enough content to populate your website, which is certainly also useful when you want your website to get higher search engine ranking.

It really means that you won't need to struggle with paying for content and you also won't have to write all of the content on your own. You just need to agree how to use the free content in your ezine.

How To Get New Subscribers Every Day Like Crazy

When you publish your own ezine, one of the most important things you can do is to get subscribers for it. If there are no subscribers, no one is going to read your ezine. So here's how you can get new subscribers every day like crazy:

1. Market Your Articles

Article marketing is one of the strategies I use to generate leads to my newsletter on a daily basis. It's truly effective because your reader is pre-sold after he reads your article. If he likes the content of your article and feels that you have helped him in some way, he will want to get more information from you. And that information can be in you ezine.

2. Post On Message Boards

Go to message boards that relate to your niche market and start posting on them on a regular basis, even daily if possible. Build a reputation as an information giver and a quality poster on the message boards. This will get more traffic and sign ups for your ezine.

3. Submit Your Ezine To Ezine Directories

There are many ezine directories on the web. The most popular is the Directory Of Ezines that is operated by Charlie Page. You can submit your ezine there to get massive exposure. If you want to submit to more ezine directories, just do a search for the phrase on Google and you will be able to find some directories which you can submit your ezine to. The more directories you submit to, the more residual traffic you will get.

What Will Your Blog Be About?

Do you read blogs? Everyone does, but do you realize that a blog can be the web site you wish you had AND provide a steady income?

A blog can do that and so much more. You can use a blog to post your articles and send editors there to read your samples. If you have anything to sell or a reputation to build, a blog can help you do both and more without spending a lot of money.

Search engines love blogs and often bring them up as search results along with established web sites. That means traffic to your blog and an interested audience wanting to read your opinions and learn the lessons you want to teach.

You don't have to wait for someone else to publish your words if you publish them yourself on your own blog.

if you want to write a blog that gets read and keeps your audience coming back for more, you have to follow the basic rules of writing for an online audience. This is the resource I recommend, Blogging to the bank.

Here are 5 tools you can use right now to write copy that compels your visitors to read what you write and buy what you are selling:

1. Use conversational copy. Write like you talk and you'll make a better connection with your readers.

2. Use active words. Words have power. Find specific active verbs to paint your copy, to make it exciting and lively.
3. Make your copy benefit oriented. Honestly, your readers don't care if your lawnmower has a push button start. What
they care about is that the lawnmower starts easily. Your owners don't care if your lawnmower has a tight turning
radius. They want to know that mowing around their rose bush is easy and doesn't require a 30-point turn. Sell benefits
not features.

4. Use common language. Make sure that you use words that people know. Absolutely do not use tech speak or jargon. It's boring and you will lose your readers if they don't know what you're talking about. Do use words that people are familiar with and can connect to.

5. Use emotions. We all want to feel smarter, richer, happier, thinner, more respected and so on. Use these
emotions and emotional needs to connect with your reader. For example, "Do you feel paralyzed every time you have to go shopping? Do you hate trying on clothes? Does stepping in front of that three way mirror strike fear inside you?"

You can build a business with a blog. It will keep your visitors glued to your site. It will bring visitors back to your site. It will generate traffic and increase your search engine ranking.

Compelling copy sells!  Don't wait another day to get started.

Public Domain Books: Repurpose Public Domain Content To Create Ebooks That Sell

You can create eBooks and other content by repurposing any material that is in the public domain. A public domain work is defined as anything not protected by copyright, and which may be used by anyone. There are several reasons that a work may be in the public domain.

1.  If the writing was done prior to 1923 it is automatically available for your use. There are written materials, books, and reports that you can reformat easily and sell on the internet. It is estimated that there are over 85 million books on a wide variety of topics that are currently in the public domain. Most of these books are written on evergreen topics, meaning they will never become outdated ideas.

2. If the term of copyright has expired. Many people are just not interested in renewing their copyrighted material, or have passed away, leaving their writing to the public domain.

3.  The author has chosen not to renew the copyright. This could be for a number of reasons.

4.  The work is from the United States government. Unless someone else has already taken out a new copyright, this work is also yours for the taking.

If any of these things have taken place, the books and other materials are available for you to use freely. However, you will want to find resources to help you sort out the information that is available. The problem has always been that there is so much available on the internet it is difficult to know where to look.

In the past I have recommended site such as Project Gutenberg and Authorama, but this can be a long and tedious process at best. This is a great way to have an eBook or other content ready to sell very quickly. If this is of interest to you in any way, you owe it to yourself to consider using public domain works as a source of articles, reports, and eBooks to sell online.

Imagine finding a book on your exact topic and being able to reformat it so that it looks more modern and attractive to today's readers. You can do just that, as well as use this information to create reports and other materials to give away as lead generator and bonuses. You can also break up these books into hundreds of articles that you can widely distribute around the internet, as well as blog posts, bringing you thousands of interested visitors that may be interested in purchasing the books in eBook form. You will have a lifetime of content and be able to focus on attracting people to your sales letters where your eBooks will be available for sale.

Starting Off With Work From Home

Some people who are very much enthusiastic in starting their work from home and venturing the online business world are also the same people who are very much clueless and do not know how to start, where to begin and what they need in order to begin. Pointlessly staring at your computer, figuring out what to do is what happens. This will definitely take you nowhere. This article will help you out from being stuck at point zero and will give you initial steps to take for your work from home.

Having a jump start with your online career could be as simple as sitting down and thinking of something that you like or are interested in doing. That particular interest can be the starting point for you to make money online. For example, you really like shoes and all that. You have bought and tried on quite a few. You know most of the brands. You love to search and read write-ups about shoes, how they are made, how much they cost, etc. You also happen to like writing about them like featuring them on your blog or online journal. Then that's your cue.

The possibilities are numerous. You could do article marketing. You could search for shoe sites or companies that hire online writers who can create genuine write-ups, newsletters, articles or features about their products. Or better yet, you could try affiliate marketing. Look for niches or affiliate programs where they have different kinds of shoes as products for you to sell or advertise. Or if you want, you can buy some shoes and try selling them online yourself. These are just a few things.

After that, you can begin with selling or promoting your products or writing articles about products, planning techniques, finding ways to expose your new business and work from home. All these can be done with a help of an extensive research here and there and understanding the concepts.

From there, you can work and move on to the complicated and challenging steps to achieve success in your work from home. What's important is you're not as clueless anymore as before. Of course, if you're doing your homework well, you really won't end up clueless with Internet marketing.

How to Publish Your Newsletter

You know how much we all like to get everything for free, because it's a great feeling. But you know, sometimes, getting something for free is not such a great deal that it might seem at first at all.

So you are looking for a free newsletter publishing software program for your newsletter.

You know how much time you spend on preparing your every issue and you want to make sure that nothing ruins all your efforts at the last final step: publishing your newsletter and getting it to the hands of your valued readers.

This is what will happen if you use a free newsletter software.

A lot of different problems may happen...

The software may corrupt in the middle of the process of sending out your newsletter to your list, leaving you frustrated who has received it and who has not. So at the end, you will have to either not send the rest of your list and end up leaving some of your sbscribers who have never received this issue...

Or you will have to send it to them all over again, so that hundreds of people will receive two copies of the same and many will be annoyed and you will look unprofessional.

Also a free software won't give you many of the great features that you want to use to create a perfect newsletter that will really impress your subscribers. So you'll soon become frustrated and have to deal with just the limited functionalities in it.

The bottom line is, you may seem to save some bucks at the beginning by NOT paying for newsletter software, but after a short while, you will find yourself frustrated with the free software and decide to move to a paid and more complete solution.

But then, you will have to face the hassle of moving your list to the new software and doing all the configurations all over again.

So why waste your time when you can get ahead by going with a great, strong, and powerful solution from the beginning.

There are all types of newsletter software solutions out there and it might be confusing for you to choose the best option. I have personally tried several newsletter software programs and have found the most complete, powerful, and easy to use software that is also the most affordable, is called Aweber.

Maybe you have heard about it before. It's very popular. Aweber is really popular and loved among newsletter publishers. Click here for more info.

Today when I searched for this keyword, Google finds 59,400 websites that are talking about Aweber as the best newsletter publishing software. I think this tells a lot about how popular these guys are.

Wish you the best of luck with your newsletter!

5 Work From Home Tips

Doing work from home will not give you the goals you aimed for just as quick. It's a smooth, careful, progressive flow that will take you to the level that you want to achieve and eventually, to the profits that you're longing to earn. The process requires a lot of learning and growing experience on one's part in order to be able to understand every corner and ever angle of the online business there is.

This is why many consider indulging into some tips that may give them bits of helpful information or remind them of what they have to consider and think of in their work from home. Just like the following:

1. Consider the investments you have to put in on your work from home, time, money, effort, resources, whatever it is. There are certain kinds of online business that require you more time and effort to invest than money. Others are vice versa. Taking into account which investment you think you can offer more or depending on what online career you are more comfortable and productive with may determine that decision.

2. Treat your products as yourself. You and your products are one. Remember that you chose the niche and the products according to your knowledge, skills, expertise, interests and at times, personality. You do this because it would be relatively easy to sell products that you already know of or interested into. All the works, the efforts, the initiative, the tactics, they could come naturally.

3. Maximize your resources and what you can do. The Internet is a free zone and almost everything you need is there for the taking and using. If you need to come up with a site for your products, you could. If you need to develop a landing page or sales page to convince more your potential buyers and convert them, then you can do so. If you need to do blogging to pull in more traffic to your site, why not? All one needs is some exploration and a little more research and everything will come through.

4. There's no harm in trying to have an autoresponder. Visitors of your site are likely to have some message they want to leave behind. This is where autoresponders come in handy. What you want here is to roll up as many names as you can. You could also build an email marketing list through your autoresponder. This is just another way of maximizing your resources that can surely benefit you in the long run.

5. For work from home that involves more in the affiliate marketing side or auction selling or product promotion or such, planning an advertising campaign is one major consideration. You can research for some marketing strategies and choose what suits you and your business best or you can devise your own tactics and techniques you believe fits the online career at hand. Either way, you'll have to put in a fair amount of time, thinking, effort and skills especially when it comes to planning.

This quick checklist is just a few things any Internet marketer out there should put into mind. You'll be amazed how these tips, no matter how simple or basic, can take you somewhere in your work from home. I am proud to say that I have done all the research and all the strategies are there for you to choose which one is best for you.
